What is this website?

Well, you probably already gathered from the home page that this is my personal site. I actually got the latest naming of this site after feeling unhappy with the previous one, and I spent many days trying to come up with something fitting... It came to me in a flash when I turned on You'll Live Through This by Hole, and in the first song Violet, Courtney opens with the lines
❝And the skies were made of amethysts
And all the stars were just like little fish❞
It's so perfect! Amethyst are my birthstone, and I already liked to use a lot of purple in my colors here.

The history of this place

I originally started this website under the name 'Shineycats' (very briefly). Then, AlysRealm until July 2025 (interested in looking at it? good thing I am an archive 'Save Page Now' fiend). I decided that I didn't like having a site named after me. lol. I think it killed part of my inspiration..

How was this site made?

This site has gone through many 'phases' relating to my methods for creating it, but currently I am using Visual Studio Code. and I probably will stay with it forever considering the ease I have found using it. I use the Neocities Command Line Interface (CLI) directly inside VSC, to update my site from the directory file on my PC straight to the host on Neocities! Easy peasy! At least for not having to pay for hosting
